CHAPTER 114 AN ACT RELATIVE TO EXTENDING THE TIME WITHIN WHICH REFERENDUM ELECTIONS ARE HELD IN THE TOWN OF MILLBURY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 337 of the acts of 1992 is hereby amended by striking out subsection (c) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:-

(c) Within fourteen days of the filing and including the time for certification by the board of registrars of a referendum petition, the selectmen shall call a special election which shall be held not less than thirty-five days and no more than forty-five days after issuing the call; provided, however, that if a regular or special election is to be held not more than sixty days following the date such petition is filed, said selectmen may provide that the question or questions involved be presented to the voters at the same election.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
