CHAPTER 159 AN ACT EXEMPTING THE POSITION OF CHIEF OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE TOWN OF BEDFORD FROM THE PROVISIONS OF CIVIL SERVICE LAW.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The position of chief of the police department of the town of Bedford shall be exempt from the provisions of chapter thirty-one of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. The provisions of section one shall not impair the civil service status of any person holding the position of chief of the police department of the town of Bedford on the effective date of this act.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
