Session Laws

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The agreement creating the Athol-Orange Solid Waste Disposal District is hereby ratified, validated and confirmed.

SECTION 2. The assessment of costs, charges or fees upon the member towns by the district shall not be subject to the provisions of section twenty A of chapter fifty-nine of the General Laws.

SECTION 3. The allocated share of the district's debt for each member town shall not be included in the towns total taxes assessed for the purposes of section twenty-one C of chapter fifty-nine of the General Laws.

SECTION 4. The Athol-Orange Solid Waste Disposal District may create and maintain from general revenues and bond proceeds and provide for the ultimate disposition of such reserve, replacement, maintenance and improvement funds and operating fund if funded from bond proceeds during the first twelve months of the operation of the district as it may deem necessary to enable said district to carry out its functions in an orderly fashion.

SECTION 5. Sections two and three of this act shall take effect upon their acceptance by a majority vote of the voters of the Athol-Orange Solid Waste Disposal District present and voting thereon at a district election as a ballot question.
