Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
The commissioner of capital planning and operations, acting for and on behalf of the commonwealth, is hereby authorized, subject to the provisions of sections forty E to forty J, inclusive, of chapter seven of the General Laws, to acquire by eminent domain, or otherwise, a certain parcel of land owned by the Somerville Housing Authority and located in the city of Somerville, and to transfer the care, custody and control of said parcel to the department of highways. Said parcel which is presently dedicated for a housing use shall be diverted to a highway use.
Said parcel of land is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point 33 feet southwesterly, 90 degrees of station 16 + 43 of the 1908 survey baseline, as shown on the plan hereinafter referred to, and 40 feet southwesterly, 90 degrees of station 89+68 of the existing Mystic Avenue construction baseline, in assessor's section 57 of Somerville, Massachusetts; thence Southwesterly 5 feet;
thence Southeasterly parallel to the said layout line, 357 feet;
thence Northeasterly 90 degrees, 5 feet to a point on said layout line;
thence Northwesterly along said layout line, 357 feet back to the point of beginning. Said parcel containing 1,785 square feet.
The parcel herein described is shown on a plan entitled, "Plan of Road In The City Of Somerville Middlesex County Laid Out As A State Highway By The Massachusetts Highway Commission, April 14 1908". This plan shall be kept on file with the chief engineer of the department of highways.
