Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Notwithstanding any general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, the town of Canton is hereby authorized to pay a sum of money, not to exceed seven thousand seven hundred and thirty-nine dollars and eight cents to the Canton fire fighters, Local 1580, I.A.F.F. as reimbursement for expenditures made by its members for improvements and renovations to the Canton fire station during fiscal year nineteen hundred and eighty-eight.
