Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the town of Sharon, acting by and through its board of selectmen is hereby authorized to convey, subject to the approval of the secretary of the executive office of environmental affairs, and the secretary of the executive office of communities and development, a certain parcel of land located in said town which was acquired for recreational purposes to the South Shore Habitat for Humanity, Inc., for the purpose of providing affordable housing, subject to the provisions of sections thirty-one and thirty-two of chapter one hundred and eighty-four of the General Laws. Said parcel consisting of eighty thousand square feet is generally shown as parcel A1 on a sketch plan of land prepared by the town engineers office which is on file in the office of the town clerk but the final configuration of said parcel shall be determined by said board of selectmen.
SECTION 2. In consideration of said conveyance, the South Shore Habitat for Humanity, Inc. shall pay to the town of Sharon the amount of one dollar together with such costs and expenses incurred by said town in carrying out the conveyance authorized under the provisions of section one as the board of selectmen may deem appropriate.
