Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 3 of chapter 405 of the acts of 1983 is hereby amended by inserting after the word "District", in lines 4 and 5, the following words:- or their designees.

SECTION 2. Said section 3 of said chapter 405 is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 5 to 9, inclusive, the words "and a registered voter of said town, who shall, whenever practicable, be employed, affiliated or otherwise associated with a class of private secondary schools not otherwise represented on said committee, shall be appointed to a three year term by the town moderator" and inserting in place thereof the following words:- a registered voter of the town who is interested in education shall be appointed to a three year term by the town moderator.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
