CHAPTER 258 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A BOARD OF SEWER COMMISSIONERS IN THE TOWN OF WEST STOCKBRIDGE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. There shall be established in the town of West Stockbridge a board of sewer commissioners to consist of five members appointed by the board of selectmen. Said members shall initially be appointed by the board of selectmen as follows: one member for one year, one member for two years, one member for three years, one member for four years and one member for five years, thereafter the board of selectmen shall appoint one member annually for five years. The board of selectmen shall appoint no less than three members who shall be users of the sewer system. The board of sewer commissioners shall exercise all powers previously granted to the board of selectmen relative to the sewer system; provided, however, that the board of sewer commissioners may, subject to the approval of the board of selectmen, annually set the charges to be assessed upon the sewer users and determine the number and compensation of all employees necessary to operate said sewer system.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its acceptance by the voters of the town of West Stockbridge at an annual or duly scheduled special town meeting.
