Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 512 of the acts of 1952, as most recently amended by section 1 of chapter 462 of the acts of 1969, is hereby further amended by striking out the third sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- Upon his death leaving Katherine E. Flannery, his wife, surviving him, said city shall pay to her, so long as she remains unmarried, an annuity in the amount of three-fourths of the annual amount of pension payable to him at the time of his death.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
