Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Chapter 19A of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 36, as appearing in the 1992 Official Edition, the following section:-

Section 37. No person trained and designated by the department of elder affairs as a counselor or coordinator in the serving health information needs of elders program, whether acting on a compensated or volunteer basis shall be liable in any civil or criminal action by reason of the good faith performance of his official duties. The department shall make publicly available a description of the function and the responsibilities of such counselor.
