Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1. The city of Melrose is hereby authorized to convey to the commonwealth, without monetary consideration and by deed approved as to form by the attorney general, a certain parcel of land, with structures thereon, known as the Lawrence W. Lloyd memorial pool.
Said parcel is shown as the lot "To Be Conveyed by City of Melrose to Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Area = 54,400 Sq. Ft." on a plan entitled "Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Metropolitan District Commission, Park Engineering Division, Lynn Fells Parkway Dated: October 6, 1971, Benjamin Fink, Director of Park Engineering", being plan accession number 47210 V.T.
SECTION 2. The conveyance of the parcel authorized by section one shall be contingent upon the metropolitan district commission rehabilitating, maintaining and seasonally operating the Lawrence W. Lloyd memorial pool. If said commission fails to commence such rehabilitation within one year of the effective date of this act or fails to maintain and operate said pool for the nineteen hundred and ninety-four season or at any time thereafter, fails to operate said pool, subject to appropriation, in the city of Melrose may exercise a right of reversion by serving a written notice upon the division of capital planning and operations not less than sixty days prior to the effective date of such reversion. Said division is hereby authorized to execute and deliver such documents as may be required to perfect title in said city of Melrose in the event of such reversion.
