CHAPTER 394 AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE TREASURER IN THE TOWN OF SHIRLEY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section one of chapter forty-one of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the board of selectmen of the town of Shirley shall appoint the town treasurer.

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of section one of this act, the incumbent in the office of town treasurer upon the effective date of this act shall continue to hold said office and to perform the duties thereof until the expiration of his term or a precedent vacating of office.
