CHAPTER 438 AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE HOLDING OF MULTIPLE OFFICES IN THE TOWN OF ARLINGTON.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 9 of chapter 503 of the acts of 1952, as amended by section 2 of chapter 634 of the acts of 1956, is hereby further amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- A member of the board of selectmen, or of the school committee, or of the finance committee shall, during the term for which he was elected or appointed, be ineligible either by election or appointment to hold any other town office, except the office of town meeting member and except for membership on a committee, board or commission when the participation of such member is required by town by-law or by a vote of the town meeting.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
