Session Laws

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The Lunenburg Water District of Lunenburg, established pursuant to chapter seventeen of the acts of nineteen hundred and thirty-nine, is hereby authorized to make assessments for the cost of laying water pipes, including hydrants and incidental parts and materials, in the following streets: Townsend Harbor road, South Row road, Island road, Peninsula drive, Horizen Island road, Woodland avenue, Cove road, Sandy Cove road, Crescent road, Crescent terrace, Cove terrace, Beachview road, Wildwood road and Park terrace, in the following manner:

(a) seventy-five percent of such costs shall be assessed according to a uniform unit method, based upon said proportion of such costs divided among the total number of existing and potential water service units to be served. Each water service unit shall be equal to a single family residence. Potential water service units shall be calculated on the basis of zoning then in effect. Existing and potential multifamily, commercial, industrial and semi-public uses shall be converted into water service units on the basis of residential equivalents;

(b) twenty-five percent of such cost shall be assessed according to valuation for purposes of taxation in the last annual assessment of real properties in the town of Lunenburg.

SECTION 2. All orders or assessments of the Lunenburg Water District of Lunenburg voted at the special district meeting held on August thirteenth, nineteen hundred and ninety-two and all actions taken pursuant thereto are hereby ratified, validated and confirmed to the same extent as though this act had been in full force and effect at the time of said meeting.
