CHAPTER 97 AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CAPE COD CHAPTER NO. 96 DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS, INC. TO SELL AND CONVEY A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND IN THE TOWN OF BARNSTABLE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter five hundred and fifty-four of the acts of nineteen hundred and eighty-three or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Cape Cod Chapter No. 96 Disabled American Veterans, Inc. is hereby authorized to sell and convey a certain parcel of land situated in the town of Barnstable and described in said chapter five hundred and fifty-four. The proceeds of said sale shall be retained in escrow and may only be expended for the purpose of purchasing a new site for the headquarters of said Cape Cod Chapter No. 96 Disabled American Veterans, Inc. If said proceeds have not been expended within five years of the date of their receipt, all monies in said escrow account shall revert to the commonwealth.
