Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter two hundred and nineteen of the acts of nineteen hundred and ninety-five is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. The office of treasurer-collector of the town of Dennis is hereby established. Said treasurer-collector shall be appointed by the board of selectmen of said town for a term not to exceed three years and the person so appointed shall have all the powers and duties vested in the office of treasurer and the office of collector. A vacancy in said office shall be filled in a like manner for the unexpired portion of the term.
SECTION 3. The incumbents in the offices of treasurer and collector on the effective date of this act shall continue to hold said offices and to perform the duties thereof until the expiration of their terms and the appointment of a treasurer-collector or a precedent vacating of office.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
