Session Laws

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 3-1-1 of the charter of the town of Acushnet, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth as provided in section twelve of chapter forty-three B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 5, the word "treasurer".

SECTION 2. Section 3-4-1 of said charter is hereby amended by inserting after the word "constables", in line 3, the following words:- treasurer, collector.

SECTION 3. Said section 3-4-1 of said charter is hereby further amended by adding the following sentence:- Notwithstanding anything contained herein, the board of selectmen shall have the right to appoint the same person to the positions of treasurer and collector.

SECTION 4. Section 4-1-3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out, in line 3, the words "except those of the treasurer".
