Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
Notwithstanding the provisions of section ninety-six of chapter forty-one of the General Laws, or any other general or special law or rule to the contrary, the town of Marblehead is hereby authorized to appoint John Blaisdell to the police department of said town and he is authorized to exercise police powers without being required to be assigned to and satisfactorily complete a prescribed course of study at a regional or municipal police training school approved by the Massachusetts criminal justice training council.
