CHAPTER 176 AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE STAFF QUALIFICATIONS FOR GROUP CHILD CARE STAFF.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, the office for children regulations regarding qualifications for assistant teachers, teachers, lead teachers and child care center directors providing group care to infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in the commonwealth shall not have lower age requirements, require fewer college-level credits, or in any other way be less rigorous, than regulations contained in 102 CMR 7.06 in effect on November twenty-seventh, nineteen hundred and ninety-five.

This Bill having been returned by His Excellency the Governor with his objections thereto in writing (see House 6156) has been passed by the House of Representatives, notwithstanding said objections, two-thirds of the House (130 yeas to 18 nays) having agreed to pass the same.
