CHAPTER 221 AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE BOUNDARIES OF THE SHIRLEY VILLAGE WATER DISTRICT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Chapter 119 of the acts of 1903 is hereby amended by striking out section 1, as amended by chapter 103 of the acts of 1988, and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

Section 1. The inhabitants of the town of Shirley liable to taxation in said town and residing within the territorial limits of said town and the inhabitants of the town of Lancaster, liable to taxation in said town and residing within the territory comprised within the following boundary lines to wit:-

Starting at a southwest boundary between Lancaster, Lunenburg and Shirley town lines; east along the Lancaster and Shirley town line, to a bound in the Nashua River; south along the Department of Corrections land to Route 2; west along Route 2, to exit ramp number 35; north to the boat ramp at Fort Pond; northeast across Fort Pond, to the point of beginning at the southwest bound of Lancaster, Lunenburg and Shirley shall constitute a water district, and are hereby made a body corporate, by the name of the Shirley Village Water District, for the purpose of supplying themselves with water for the extinguishment of fires and for domestic and other purposes, with power to establish fountains and hydrants and to relocate and discontinue the same, to regulate the use of such water and to fix and collect rates to be paid therefor, and to take by lease, purchase or otherwise and hold, property, lands, rights of way and easements, for the purposes mentioned in this act, and to prosecute and defend in all actions relating to the property and affairs of the district.
