Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The town of Belmont, acting by and through its board of selectmen, is hereby authorized to grant an easement over a certain parcel of park land to the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for the purpose of maintaining a controlled environmental vault. Said easement is shown on a plan of land entitled "Plan Showing Proposed Transfer of Easement, Grove Street, Belmont, MA", dated November 7, 1995 prepared by Thomas G. Gatzunis, town engineer, on file in the office of the town clerk. The consideration for the granting of said easement shall not be less than twenty thousand dollars.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
