Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter thirty B and chapter forty of the General Laws or any other general or special laws to the contrary, the city known as the town of Methuen, acting by and through its mayor, with the approval of its city council and the department of environmental affairs, is hereby authorized to sell and convey the following two parcels of land to Malden Mills Industries, Inc. upon such terms and conditions as said town deems appropriate.
Parcel No. 1 is that parcel of land conveyed to said town by the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation by deed recorded at the north Essex registry of deeds, Book 4411, Page 226.
Parcel No. 2 is playground land.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
