CHAPTER 344 AN ACT RELATIVE TO CERTAIN VOTING PRECINCTS IN THE CITY OF REVERE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, Ward Two, Precinct Two, of the city of Revere shall be one precinct for the purpose of forming congressional, representative, senatorial or councillor districts but shall have two polling places for the purpose of any state or municipal elections; provided, however, that one said polling place shall be located at the Garfield magnet school to serve voters residing south of Centennial avenue and shall be known as Precinct Two A and the other said polling place shall be located at the Carl Hyman Towers to serve voters residing north of Centennial avenue and shall be known as Precinct Two.

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, Ward Five, Precinct Two, of the city of Revere shall be one precinct for the purpose of forming congressional, representative, senatorial or councillor districts but shall have two polling places for the purpose of any state or municipal elections; provided, however, that one said polling place shall be located at 420 Revere Beach boulevard to serve voters residing north of Jackson street and shall be known as Precinct Two and the other said polling place shall be located at the Freeman street fire station to serve voters residing south of Jackson street and shall be known as Precinct Two A.

SECTION 3. The election commission of the city of Revere is hereby authorized to take all necessary actions to assure compliance herewith including, but not limited to, such actions as assuring the accuracy of the voting lists as located at each polling place as set forth in this act. Said election commission shall divide each of the precincts set forth in sections one and two into two subprecincts, in each of which is located one of the polling places set forth in said sections, and only the names of voters who reside in each such subprecinct shall appear on the voting list for said subprecinct.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
