Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Clause (4) of the second paragraph of section 26 of
chapter 119 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1996 Official Edition, is
hereby amended by adding the following sentence:- The entry of such order
shall have the effect of terminating the rights of a person named therein to
receive notice of or to consent to any legal proceeding affecting the custody,
guardianship, adoption or other disposition of the child named therein.
SECTION 2.
The first paragraph of paragraph (b) of section 3 of
chapter 210 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
inserting after the fourth sentence the following sentence:- The entry of such
decree shall have the effect of terminating the rights of a person named
therein to receive notice of or to consent to any legal proceeding affecting
the custody, guardianship, adoption or other disposition of the child named
therein.
SECTION 3.
The third paragraph of said paragraph (b) of said
section 3 of said chapter 210, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
inserting after the first sentence the following sentence:- The entry of such
decree shall have the effect of terminating the rights of a person named
therein to receive notice of or to consent to any legal proceeding affecting
the custody, guardianship, adoption or other disposition of the child named
therein.
