Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
Chapter 6 of the General Laws is
hereby amended by inserting after section 15OOOO, inserted by chapter 154 of
the acts of 2002, the following section:-
Section 15PPPP. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting
apart
January 29 as Thomas Paine Day, in honor of one of America's founding fathers,
a patriot and the author of the influential "Common Sense", and
recommending that the day be
observed
in an appropriate manner by the people.
