Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 17 of chapter 11 of the General Laws, as
appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after
the
word "assistance", in lines 11, 29 and 36, the following words:- , the
executive
office of health and human services, in its capacity as the single state agency
for the purposes of Title XIX of the Social Security Act.
SECTION 2.
Said section 17 of said chapter 11, as so appearing, is
hereby further amended by inserting after the word "tax", in line 22, the
following
word:- returns,- and by inserting after the word "returns", in line 30, the
following word:- , reports.
SECTION 3.
Said section 17 of said chapter 11, as so appearing, is
hereby further amended by striking out clause (8) and inserting in place
thereof the following clause:-
(8) report in writing to the governor and the general court the nature and
extent of his activities for each calendar year, the report to be made not
later than 90 days after the expiration of the calendar year, which report
shall be made available to the public.
SECTION 4.
Said section 17 of said chapter 11, as so appearing, is
hereby further amended by adding the following clause:-
(13) be authorized, in any investigation conducted pursuant to this section,
to utilize the lien provisions set forth in section 29 of chapter 18.
SECTION 5.
Section 9 of chapter 14 of the General Laws is hereby
repealed.
SECTION 6.
Section 29 of chapter 18 of the General Laws, as
appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in
line 2, the words "section 11 of chapter 14" and inserting in place thereof
the following words:- section 17 of chapter 11.
SECTION 7.
Sections 15A, 15B and 15C of chapter 22 of the
General Laws are hereby repealed.
SECTION 8.
Section 21 of chapter 62C of the
General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by
inserting after the
word "assistance", in line 31, the following words:- , the executive office of
health and human services, in its capacity as the single state agency for the
purposes of Title XIX of the Social Security Act.
