Event Description

We are encouraging any and all staff, staffing agencies, and staff unions connected to the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home, either currently or formerly, to testify either in person, remotely, or in writing, as this will be their first opportunity to do so in a public forum. We will work to make every accommodation possible to provide the opportunity for staff, staffing agencies, and staff unions to testify.

For individuals looking to testify in person at the hearing on October 27th beginning at 9:30 AM, please fill out this Google Form. The Google Form will remain open until 4 PM on October 25th. (To complete the Google Form, you must be logged in to a Google account.)

If you cannot sign up via Google Form, please email Jessica Avery at jessica.avery@mahouse.gov by 4 PM on October 25th. Please make sure to include in the email subject line “Special Joint Oversight Committee on the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke COVID-19 Outbreak Testimony Sign Up”. We also ask that you provide your name, organization, phone number, and email address. We will follow up with you about how to share testimony with the committee.

If you are not able to attend the in-person hearing on Tuesday, or feel more comfortable participating online, a virtual hearing will take place on Thursday, October 29th beginning at 9:30 AM via Microsoft Teams. Please fill out this Google Form by 5 PM on Monday, October 26th, and indicate that you will testify virtually.

You are also invited to submit written testimony either as an attached PDF or in the body of an email to Jessica Avery, Research Director, at jessica.avery@mahouse.gov or Hannah Buntich, Chair Timilty’s Chief of Staff, at hannah.buntich@masenate.gov no later than 7:00 PM on October 29, 2020. Please make sure to include in the email subject line “Special Joint Oversight Committee on the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke COVID-19 Outbreak Testimony”. We also ask you to provide the committee with your name, address, organization (if applicable), and phone number.

If you have any media inquiries or requests or are a member of the press interested in the event, please contact Jessica Avery at jessica.avery@mahouse.gov or Hannah Buntich at hannah.buntich@masenate.gov. Given COVID-19 guidelines and procedures, not all press may be allowed in the hearing room at any given time, and we will do our best to accommodate all interested parties.
