AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN PERSONS AS FIREFIGHTERS IN THE CITY OF FALL RIVER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the personnel administrator of the human resources division shall place on the current civil service eligible list for firefighter in the city of Fall River or on the next list if the current list has expired the names of David W. O’Brien, Michael T. Walsh, Patrick M. Burke, Nicholas Suneson, Scott Chretien and Rachael Gettys on the top of such list requested by the city from the division from which the next 6 original appointments to the position of firefighter shall be made by the city.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.

This Bill having been returned by His Excellency the Governor with his objections thereto in writing (see House 4549) has been passed by the House of Representatives, notwithstanding said objections, two-thirds of the House (137 yeas to 18 nays) having agreed to pass the same.
