AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE STOUGHTON POLICE DEPARTMENT AND EXEMPTING THE POSITION FROM THE CIVIL SERVICE LAWS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
SECTION 1. The town of Stoughton may establish the position of deputy chief of police in the Stoughton police department.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the position of deputy chief of police in the Stoughton police department shall not be subject to chapter 31 of the General Laws.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
