AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN TRAFFIC ISLAND IN THE TOWN OF HINGHAM AS THE FRANK MASSA MEMORIAL ISLAND

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith the Frank Massa memorial island in the town of Hingham, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

The traffic island at the intersection of Lincoln street and Fottler road in the town of Hingham shall be designated and known as the "The Frank Massa Memorial Island” in memory of Frank Massa, founder of Massa Products Corporation in the town of Hingham who has been called the “Father of Modern Electroacoustics” best known for his contributions to the field of acoustical engineering and is recognized as a pioneer in the design of transducers and systems used by the United States military for air and underwater applications.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
