AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT TO HOLD A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCEPTING THE TERMS OF CLAUSE FORTY-FIRST C½ OF SECTION 5 OF CHAPTER 59 OF THE GENERAL LAWS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the city of Newburyport, by majority vote of the city council, may call for and conduct a special election for the purpose of accepting the terms of clause Forty-first C½ of section 5 of chapter 59 of the General Laws.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
