An Act to create penalties for manslaughter when caused by the operation of a motor vehicle..
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 265 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section:—Section 13½. Whoever commits manslaughter while operating a motor vehicle shall be punished in the state prison for not more than twenty years or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars and imprisonment in jail or a house correction for not more than two and one-half years. Upon a conviction under this section, the court shall immediately notify the registrar, who shall suspend the license, permit or right to operate of such person for fifteen years.
