In the Year Two Thousand Nine

An Act authorizing the city of Methuen to lease that building formally known as the “Dav Building” to the Head Start Program of the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 3 of Chapter 40 or Section 16 of Chapter 30B of the General Laws or any other general special law, rules, regulations, or ordinance to the contrary, the City of Methuen acting by and through its Mayor, subject to approval of its City Council, may lease for not more than 99 years, on such terms as Mayor may determine, to the Head Start Program of the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, a building to be constructed by the latter on the site located in said City at 24 Gill Avenue, Parcel ID, 614-150-2, the current location of the building known as the “Dav Building” which is to be demolished; and further

Section 2: This act shall take effect upon passage.
