An Act providing for the viability of fire hydrants in winter..
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 148 of the General Laws, is hereby amended by inserting after section 27B the following section:—Section 27C. All fire hydrants or other similar device used for fire protection which is located in any public or private way shall be equipped with a marker of not less than 4 feet in height during the period from November first to May first.
SECTION 2. The division of fire prevention shall establish a program to provide grants for cities and towns to assist in their compliance with section 27C of chapter 148 of the General Laws.
