An Act relative to the retirement of clerk/magistrates, clerks of court, recorder and registers..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Chapter 32, section 5 (2) (a), as appearing in the 1996 Official Edition of the General Laws, is hereby amended by inserting the following subsection: -

                Subsection 5 (2) (a) (i).  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the normal yearly amount of the retirement allowance for any member in Group 1, Group 2, or Group 4 who is an employee of the Supreme Judicial Court who holds the position of Clerk of Court, employee of the Appeals Court who holds the position of Clerk of Court, and employee of the Trial Court who holds the position of Clerk-Magistrate, Clerk of Court, Recorder or Register shall be based on their annual salary at the time of their retirement.

 SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
