An Act relative to civil service.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, all positions currently classified as civil service positions except those in the area of public safety, specifically police officers and firefighters, shall be excluded from Civil Service.  The Civil Service rating of individuals currently holding civil service positions shall be grandfathered.
