An Act increasing penalties for violations of the conflict of interest law..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 268A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out in line 46 the words “five thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $25,000

SECTION 2.  Section 3 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in lines 30 and 31 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 3.  Section 4 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 17 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 4.  Section 5 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 41 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 5.  Section 6 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in lines 7 and 8 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 6.  Section 7 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing , is hereby amended by striking out in line 5 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 7.  Section 8 of  said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 17 the words “five thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 8.  Section 9 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “inclusive” in line 2 the following phrase:- and any violation of section 23,

SECTION 9.  Section 9 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “inclusive” in line 9 the following phrase:- and any violation of section 23,

SECTION 10.  Section 11 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 16 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 11.  Section 12 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 24 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 12.  Section 13 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in lines 7 and 8 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 13.  Section 14 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 5 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 14.  Section 15 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “inclusive” in line 3 the following phrase:- and any violation of section 23,

SECTION 15.  Section 15 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “inclusive” in line 9 the following phrase:- and any violation of section 23,

SECTION 16.  Section 17 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 16 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 17.  Section 18 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in lines 22 and 23 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 18.  Section 19 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing , is hereby amended by striking out in lines 7 and 8 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 19.  Section 20 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 5 the words “three thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000

SECTION 20.  Section 21 of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “inclusive” in line 3 the following phrase:- and any violation of section 23,

SECTION 22.  Section 21B of said chapter 268A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 6 the words “five hundred dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $2,000

SECTION 23.  Section 4 of said chapter 268B, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 73 the words “two thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000
