In the Year Two Thousand Nine

An Act  encouraging the expansion of independent online learning in secondary schools.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1D of Chapter 69 is hereby amended by inserting after the third paragraph the following new paragraph:

 "The standards shall include a recommendation that every student in the commonwealth should complete for credit at least one course through an independent online learning program that requires one hour or less per week in a traditional class room setting."
