In the Year Two Thousand Nine

An Act relative to payments in lieu of taxes by the massachusetts port authority.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.   The second paragraph of section 17 of chapter 465 of the acts of 1956, added by section 3 of chapter 332 of the acts of 1978, as amended by chapter 498 of the acts of 1980, is hereby further amended by striking in the second sentence the word, “five” and inserting in place thereof the word, “two”.

SECTION 2.  Said sentence of said paragraph is hereby further amended by adding at the end thereof the following: -

“; provided further, that subject to the provisions of this section, no agreement shall be entered into in which the aggregate amount paid to a city or town is less than that which was paid in a prior agreement.”
