An Act relative to public documents of the commonwealth..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 5 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 19. No public document, record, paper or form of any branch of the Commonwealth shall contain the phrase “In the Year of Our Lord”. In any case where such phrase is currently used the phrase “On the Day and Date Hereof” shall be substituted.
