An Act relative to improving the fair share employer contribution..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of section 188 of chapter 149 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the definition of “Employee” and inserting in place thereof the following definition:-

“Employee”, any individual employed by an employer subject to this chapter for at least 1 month, provided that for the purpose of this section self-employed individuals shall not be considered employees, and provided further that for the purpose of this section employees who are named beneficiaries receiving coverage on another’s health insurance plan shall not be considered employees.
