An Act relative to protect orders..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 34E of chapter 208 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-

Any judge faced with a person seeking a protective order shall ask such person whether he is involved in any current litigation including any other protective order, divorce, divorce modification, child support issues, assault, assault and battery or any other court action in any probate court of the commonwealth and, if the response is yes, said judge shall take whatever action he deems appropriate to address the immediate issue and shall then postpone any further action on the issue for no more than 10 days during which time the court where said judge is sitting shall forward or otherwise transfer the case to said probate court.
