An Act relative to junior operators..
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 8 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “laws” in line 93 the following:-

SECTION 2. Said section 8 of said chapter 90, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “laws” in line 116 the following:-

SECTION 3. Said section 8 of said chapter 90, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the seventh paragraph, the following 3 paragraphs. At the end of the suspension the junior operator shall be reinstated for a 30 day period with a learner’s permit. Any offenses within that time period shall be subject to existing penalties under the law. If no penalty exists, the penalty shall be a fine not to exceed $500 and a 1 year suspension of the junior operators license.
If a junior operator is found to be in violation of criminal motor vehicles and has prior offenses shall be heard at the same time as the present violation. All fines and fees as presently in law shall apply. Junior operators facing conviction for, or have a conviction of operating under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other impairing substances shall be subject to total revocation of their licenses for a period out not to exceed five or a fine of $500 or both.
