An Act giving drivers an opportunity to donate to organ banks..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 8D of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the first and second paragraphs and inserting in place thereof the following:-The registrar shall cause to be included in every notice of license renewal sent to a person licensed to operate a motor vehicle under this chapter a document containing a summary description and explanation of the anatomical gift act, as provided in chapter 113. This notice shall clearly state that every applicant for renewal of license to operate a motor vehicle assents to participation in the anatomical gift donor program contained in chapter 113. Every applicant may also decline to participate in the program by indicating so on the application for renewal of said license or indicate only certain specified organs that he wishes to donate. Any person who wishes to revoke said anatomical gift may do so by completing a withdrawal form which shall be available at every registry office. The registrar shall make available a suitable decal to be affixed to the license of a person who has signified his intention not to make a gift or a partial anatomical gift, as specified in section 9 of chapter 113.
