In the Year Two Thousand Nine

An Act relative to the preliminary election in the city of methuen in the year 2009..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding the Charter of the City of Methuen or any general or special law to the contrary, there shall be no Preliminary Election in the City of Methuen, as otherwise required, on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, for the Office of Mayor, for the Office of City Councilor, for the Office of School Committee member, for the Office of Trustee of the Nevins Memorial Library, for board members of the Methuen Housing Authority and representatives/members of the Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical High School Committee. The candidates whose nomination papers for these offices have been duly certified shall be considered nominated.

This Act shall take effect upon its passage.
