An Act Expanding the Residency Preference Afforded Under the Civil Service Law to Candidates for Appointment as Brookline Police Officers to Include Graduates of Brookline High School..
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to place recent graduates of Brookline High School on equal footing under the Massachusetts Civil Service Law, for purposes of competing for original appointment to the Town of Brookline’s police force, with current or former residents of the Town who now benefit from Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 31, § 58, the Civil Service Law’s residency.
