An Act relative to the health insurance of retired employees of the City of Somerville..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.Notwithstanding Section 9E Chapter 32B of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, an employee who has retired and is not eligible for Medicare Part B benefits shall be entitled to apply to the City of Somerville for a reduced rate of contribution for group health insurance plans offered by the City of Somerville.  The manner by which the reduced rate is offered, the amount of said reduced rate, and eligibility therefore shall be determined by the mayor of the said City of Somerville and shall be based upon income. 

SECTION 2.This act will take effect upon passage.
