An Act relative to privacy in daily police logs..
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 98F of chapter 41 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding, after the word “public” in line 15, the following words:-
; provided, further, that any entry in a log that pertains to a summons or warrant for arrest of a person who is the subject of a petition for an order of commitment for alcohol or substance abuse under section 35 of chapter 123 or for the hospitalization or commitment of a person alleged to be suffering from mental illness under section 12 of said chapter 123, shall be kept in a separate log and shall not be public record, nor shall such entry be disclosed to the public.
