In the Year Two Thousand Nine

An Act authorizing the town of Norwood to acquire a certain parcel of real estate from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Norwood 2452, Inc and to lease the same to the post and certain other veterans organizations.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 30B of the General Laws the Norwood Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized to acquire real property together with improvements thereto located at 193 Dean St. in Norwood, Massachusetts, currently owned by the Norwood Post VFW Building Association, Inc., also known as Norwood Post #2452 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 30B of the General Laws the Norwood Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized to lease said premises to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2452 and/or to other Veterans’ organizations for a term not to exceed twenty-five (25) years, upon such terms as the Board of Selectmen may consider appropriate.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
