SECTION 1. Chapter 7 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition is amended in Section 49 subsection (a) by deleting the first sentence in lines 1-6 and substituting the following:-
There shall within the Executive Office of Administration and Finance, but not subject to its control, a public employee retirement commission consisting of nine members, three of whom shall be appointed by the governor, three of whom shall be appointed by the State Auditor, two of whom shall be appointed by an election by members of the Massachusetts Association of Contributory Retirement System, one whom shall be from a regional retirement system and one from a retirement system, and one of whom shall be chosen by the first eight members and who shall be its chairman
